Taiwan Visit Diary: Delicious Food
Share
Hello, I'm Y, a cat-loving staff member at SETOUCHI BEER.
I posted event announcements and local updates on Instagram using Reels, but I thought I'd take another look at Taiwan, which I visited in January.
The opportunity to visit Taiwan came when SETOUCHI BEER was invited to set up a stall at a Kagawa Prefecture product exhibition being held at Yumoya, a local supermarket that stocks many Japanese ingredients.
However, if I'm going to Taiwan, I want to try some delicious local food.
I didn't have time to do any research beforehand, but I'd like to share some of the delicious food I ate in Taiwan.
There are direct flights from Takamatsu Airport to Taipei and Taichung, but this time I flew from Kansai Airport to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to make the most of my stay.
After checking into a hotel near Taipei Station, we headed straight to Jiufen, one of Taiwan's most famous tourist destinations.
It is famous as the place that is said to have been the model for Ghibli movies.
I arrived late and while I was looking around, the stores were closing one after another, so I ran to a store that was open.
Xiaolongbao and Lu Rou Fan.
Look at this steam. It was a very cold day, so a hot meal warmed me up a bit.

On the morning of the second day, we had salty soy milk at Sichuan Doujiang King .
Taiwan has a culture of eating out, and there was a line of locals and tourists from early in the morning.

For lunch, we went to Shun Shun Goose King Yilan Cuisine in Yilan.
I don't really know how to order, so I get by by pointing at the ingredients or showing pictures.

We will move to Taichung in the evening of the second day, and from the third day onwards there will be an event at Yumoya.
They told me I could choose any bento I wanted from the ones they had on sale in the store.
The pronunciation is the same but the kanji is different.
In the evening, we went to "Kosai Küisine", which has been selected as a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
It was a delicious meal.
Taiwanese food uses a lot of vegetables and is well seasoned. I felt a kindness that made me feel at home with Japanese people.
